Railways in Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province, are estimated to handle 775,000 passenger trips during the upcoming Qingming Festival holiday, up 0.5 percent from the same period a year ago, China Railway Shanghai Group said.

The travel rush lasts from April 2 to 5.

The daily travel peak will be on April 3, with about 250,000 passengers trips.

Railway traffic flow in the Yangtze River Delta region is expected to be more than 95 percent of that during the same period last year, according to the group.

55 additional trains will be operated in the region during the travel rush.

A relaxation of restrictions at cultural and entertainment venues around the country and spring tourism promotions in the region are expected to fuel enthusiasm for spring outings during the holiday.
