Huangshan Mountain in autumn (Photo by Wu Chunhui) Huangshan city in East China’s Anhui province received 5.45 million visitors during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, with revenue of 3.01 billion yuan ($443 million), official statistics showed.
The number of overnight stays by tourists in the city reached 351,000, 94.4 percent of those during the same period last year, according to the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism of Huangshan. The traffic volume at the entrances and exits of expressways in the city rose 3 percent year on year to 989,000. Huangshan Mountain welcomed 126,737 visitors during the 8-day holiday, with the maximum daily reception volume at 24,606. 728,800 visits were made to attractions in Shexian, a county under the jurisdiction ofHuangshan, during the holiday. Meanwhile, Xidi and Hongcun villages, UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Yixian county of Huangshan, received 56,500 and 107,200 tourists, respectively. In addition, forest attractions in Huangshan’s Qimen county posted a 10-percent year-on-year increase in visits by tourists.
