China is sending 431 athletes to the Tokyo Olympic Games, including eight from Anhui province. The Chinese Olympic Committee unveiled on Wednesday the Chinese delegation, the largest Olympic delegation China has ever sent overseas. Eight of them are from Anhui province. Wang Chunyu, who took the eighth place at the group stage of the women’s 800m semi-final in Rio Olympics, will compete in the women’s 800m. Lv Xiuzhi, who won a bronze in Rio Olympics, will take part in the women’s 20km race walk. The list also includes Wang Xiaoqing, who will compete in the women’s shooting trap, Lan Minghao, who will compete in the men’s epee, Li Haonan, who will participate in the men’s three-player basketball match, Li Yuting, who will compete in the women’s 4×100m relay, Wu Juan, who will take part in the women’s rugby sevens, and Li Huiru, who will take part in the women's rowing. The Tokyo Olympics is scheduled to open on July 23 after a one-year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Athletes from Anhui bagged a total of 14 medals at previous Olympic Games, including four golds.
