Restaurant in Xiao County fined for not meeting food waste prevention requirements

According to Anhui Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Xiao County, Suzhou City, issued the first fine in its "Stop food waste" special inspection since the city implemented its "Food Waste Prevention Regulations" (hereinafter referred to as "Regulations").

The restaurant was fined for not displaying clear food-saving signs at prominent positions or reminding any customers to order meals at appropriate amount. As it is against the provisions of Article 13 and Paragraph 1 of Article 14 of the Regulations, the law enforcement officers decided to impose a 400 yuan fine after the restaurant failed to take corrective actions since first admonishment. As the first fine of such type, it is believed that this case would act as a warning for all other food service providers.
