Export tax rebates and exemptions worth 24.80 billion yuan ($3.85 billion) were granted in east China’s Anhui province in the first nine months this year, up 14.74 percent from the same period a year ago, according to Anhui Provincial Tax Service, State Taxation Administration. The move has provided strong support for export firms amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Taxation departments around the province carried out targeted publicity and guidance of relevant policies in the Jan-Sept period. Meanwhile, they facilitated and accelerated the export rebate by allowing remote application and online examination and approval as well as shortening the time limit. “The time limit for handling export tax rebates and exemptions is generally within five working days, and more than 96 percent of major tax-related services have been offered online,” said Song Zhen, chief accountant of Anhui Provincial Tax Service said. The province’s taxation authorities will further improve services, Song said.
