Another metro line will be built in Hefei

Construction on the much-anticipated Hefei Metro Line S1 is expected to kick off in late November, Hefei Rail Transit Group Co.said on Monday. The group is organizing the designing institute to map out a designing plan for the subway and will start construction once the design is approved. The S1 line will be connected to the Ground Transportation Center (GTC) of Xinqiao Airport to realize zero-distance transfer with the intercity railway linking Hefei and Lu’an via the airport. There will be two transfer stations on the line, connecting it with the existing Metro Line 1 and Metro Line 3, as well as Metro Line 4, 5 and 10, which are currently under construction or in the planning stage.
