The Department of Finance of Anhui Province said on Thursday it has allocated a relief fund totaling 80 million yuan (about $11.7 million) to flood-hit regions across the eastern Chinese province.

The fund was dispersed from the provincial government’s budget and will be used to provide basic necessities for the affected residents and rebuild damaged homes to make sure they will return home before November 30.

Since mid-August, the province has been hit by two typhoons: Typhoon Yagi and Typhoon Rumbia. Especially the latter, the strongest typhoon over the recent six years, brought rainstorms and heavy rainfalls to the northern region and most parts of the southern region. Many places suffered huge losses from typhoon-triggered floods.
