Dozens of well-known Chinese writers will gather in Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province, from July 27 to 30, for the 2018 Huangshan Book Fair.
As a major cultural event in the province, the book fair is seen as the local government’s latest move to take part in the national book-reading campaign.
The fair will attract about 30 celebrated writers from across the country. Among them will be Wu Xiaobo, a famous financial writer, Liuxiaolingtong, an actor known for his portrayal of Monkey King in the TV series Journey to the West, and Yu Dan, a scholar known for his book on Confucius.
Last year, more than 300 publishers attended the event to promote over 100,000 kinds of books.
This year’s fair is jointly launched by the Publicity Department of the CPC Anhui Provincial Committee, the municipal government of Hefei, Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of Anhui Province, the Department of Culture, the Education Department, Anhui Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Anhui Publishing Group and Anhui Xinhua Distribution Group.
