From April 26 to 27, Sino-French co-produced documentary titled “Another Way of Treating Diseases” was shot in Bozhou. Directed by Jean Michelle Carré, a famous director in France, the documentary focuses on the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and rheumatism to show Western countries the history, treatment methods and advantages of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), introduce the diagnosis and treatment methods, meridian system, acupuncture techniques,TCM formulas and popularize to the world the scientific content behind TCM and its capacity to cure the illness.
During their stay in Bozhou, the shooting crew went to the National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Traditional Chinese Medicinal Products, Kangmei Traditional Chinese Medicine Trade Center, Gujing Group, Anhui Xiehecheng Co., Ltd, Matsuyama Church Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Shibali Traditional Chinese Medicine Planting Base.
They shot the modern production ,testing process, mature circulation system of TCM and the health culture of TCM represented by Wuqin Xi, a medical exercise imitating movements of five animals. Through interviews with practitioners in traditional Chinese medicine industry, technicians in the enterprises, and Wuqin Xi performers,the documentary fully demonstrated the industry chain and the culture of TCM in Bozhou.
It is learned that, upon the completion, the documentary will be broadcast in more than 30 countries along Belt & Road Initiative. It will effectively promote the global publicity of Bozhou as a city of “World Capital of Traditional Chinese Medicine”.
