The first integrated biomass and waste-to-energy project in China has completed construction and commenced operation in Lingbi County, Anhui Province, according to Anhui Energy Administration.

Covering an area of 300 mu ( about 200,001 square meters), the project is invested by China Everbright Greentech Limited. The total investment of Phase I amounts to RMB570 million.

The biomass project is approximately RMB320 million. It has a designed annual agricultural waste and straw processing capacity of 250,000 tonnes and is equipped with a 130 tonnes/hour ("t/h") furnace and a 30MW turbine power generator.

The waste-to-energy project is RMB250 million. It has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 400 tonnes and is equipped with a 400 tonnes/ day(“t/d”) furnace and a 9MW turbine power generator. The project is expected to generate approximately 260 million kWh of electricity annually and increase RMB80 million of farmer’s income.

By virtue of the integrated construction method, the project can share human resources and infrastructures with others, so as to reduce investment costs and improve project benefits.(by Jiang Xueting)
