A list of the "World City Top 200" was released at the tenth annual World Famous Brands Assembly (WFBA) on December 12 in New York, the United States.
Huangshan, a city in East China's Anhui province, was among 28 Chinese cities in the list. It is known to the world for its natural beauty and brilliant culture. Local destinations -Huangshan Mountain and villages of Xidi and Hongcun- are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The city is the only one in the province to make the cut. Other listed Chinese cities included Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tianjin and Shenzhen.
Huangshan's being inscribed on the list will give a boost to its going global initiative, local media said, adding that more investors and tourists may be attracted to the city.
The WFBA is a non-profit international professional conference which has been successfully held in such cities as Hong Kong, Macau, Bangkok, Singapore and Seoul. Behind the meeting are some multinational organizations like the US-China Economic Trade & Investment General Chamber of Commerce, the Europe-America-Asia Cooperation Union for Investment in Industry and Commerce and the World Brand Organization.
