About 160,000 Hangzhou Citizens Visit Huangshan Scenic Area during G20 Summit

The Huangshan Mountain Scenic Area in East China’s Anhui province welcomed 25,985 visitors as of 4 pm Monday, 79.9 percent of whom came from Hangzhou, capital of the neighboring Zhejiang province.

The region offers free admissions to Hangzhou citizens between Sept 1 and 7 as the city hosts the G20 Summit.

During the first five day of this month, the scenic area, including the world-renowned Huangshan Mountain and UNESCO heritage villages of Xidi and Hongcun, registered 193,233 trips in total. 157,688 out of them were made by tourists from Hangzhou.

Up to 191,500 tourists reached Yixian, a county at the foot of Mt. Huangshan, from Sept 1 to 5. On Sept 5 alone, it received 20,965 visitors, of whom 43.6 percent and 37.6 percent visited Xidi and Hongcun, respectively. The number of Hangzhou residents visiting Xidi yesterday was 8,139, while the number of visitors from Hangzhou to Hongcun hit 7,889.
