Nanjing-Anqing Intercity Rail Start to Build in Ma'anshan Section

The construction of Nanjing-Anqing intercity railway in Ma'anshan section officially started recently. The completion date is estimated to be by end of 2012. By then, Ma'anshan will be connected to high speed transport network in Yangtze Delta.

The intercity railway branches from Beijing-Shanghai high speed rail, spanning through Ma'anshan, Wuhu, Tongling, Chizhou, connects Anqing across Yangtze river. It's a part of Eight Horizontal and Eight Vertical Rail Arteries that runs through China.

The investment totalled over 28 billion yuan with spending in Ma'anshan section of 3 billion yuan which spans 38.5 kilometers.

The railway project plays a major role in integrating Ma'anshan into Yangtze Delta, strengthening communication and cooperation with developed cities in East China and promoting the industrial transfer.
