Jieshou Quyi Festival originated from Miaohu Village, Jieshou, Anhui Province, with a history over 200 years. According to “the Records of Jieshou”, Miaohu Quyi Festival first appeared in Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, and it was initiated by the local artist Miao Benlin. To commemorate the 165th birthday of Miao Benlin, Miao Yuanpu, the sixth generation of successor, found the sixth day of the sixth month of the lunar calendar in the leap year as the date for Miaohu Quyi Festival. Since then, Miaohu Quyi Festival has developed to some extent through continuous inheritance. 
Miaohu Festival lasts for five days in each term. During the event, Quyi artists from Caoxian County in Shandong province, Pixian County in Jiangsu Province, Dawu County in Hubei Province, Zhoukou in Henan Province, and Fuyang and Suzhou in Anhui Province attend the show one after another, and people from nearby villages rush to the Miaohu Village to listen to the performance. The Quyi festival is characterized by "speaking at anytime, singing in everywhere, and everybody being happy". The artists mainly sings Zhuizi Drama, such as Henan Zhuzi, Huaibei Dagu, Anhui Qinshu, pingshu, and yu Gu. 
With rich cultural heritages and sincere and simple singing art, Jieshou Quyi Festival has promoted the local economic development and spiritual civilization construction of Jieshou. In June 2008, Jieshou Quyi Festival was approved by the State Council for inclusion in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list. Entries:
