Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province issued an announcement that it would reopen sports venues starting March 20 while taking measures to ensure public health, after two months of closures due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. According to the announcement, all public outdoor and indoor sports venues are given the green light to resume operation. Indoor swimming pools and other poorly-ventilated indoor venues as well as sports venues in middle and primary schools would remain closed until getting approval from local authorities, the announcement said. The venues should take epidemic control measures, like limiting the opening hours and the number of customers, taking customers’ body temperature and sterilizing equipment, according to the document.
