The air quality in cities such as Hefei has fully met the standards In the past two years, the happiness index of Hefei residents has been increasing due to the clear blue sky. According to the press conference, the annual average concentration of PM2.5 in the entire province in 2022 was 34.9 μg/m³, the annual average concentration of PM10 was 58 μg/m³, a decrease of 4.9% compared to the previous year, and the annual average concentration of SO2 was 7 μg/m³, a decrease of 12.5% compared to the previous year. The ambient air quality in six cities, including Hefei, Lu'an, Xuancheng, Tongling, Anqing, and Huangshan, has fully met the standards. The average proportion of days with good air quality in the province is 81.8%, and the number of heavy pollution days has decreased by 6 days year-on-year. Ensure that the blue-green algae in Chaohu Lake are continuously odorless In 2022, the overall surface water quality in the province was good. Among the 210 monitored rivers and 73 lakes and reservoirs, there were 401 sections (points), of which 86.5% were classified as Level I-III water quality, an increase of 9.2 percentage points compared to the previous year, and the proportion of Level IV-V water quality sections (points) account for 13.5%, with no Level V sections. First-time use of Ecological Quality Index (EQI) for evaluation The EQI in the entire province in 2022 was 63.69, and the ecological quality was classified as "second-class," which was basically stable compared to the previous year. Among the 16 prefecture-level cities, Huangshan, Chizhou, and Xuancheng had an ecological quality of "first-class," Anqing, Lu'an, Chuzhou, Ma'anshan, Tongling, Hefei, Wuhu, Huainan, and Bengbu had an ecological quality of "second-class," and Fuyang, Huaibei, Bozhou, and Suzhou had an ecological quality of "third-class." What is "EQI"? The person in charge of the Anhui Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment introduced that EQI is used to reflect the regional ecological quality status of administrative units at the national, provincial, municipal, and county levels. In 2022, it was officially included in the national assessment of the effectiveness of local pollution prevention and control. This year, Anhui used the EQI for the first time to evaluate the ecological quality status of the entire province in 2022.
