HEFEI -- Police in Qiaocheng district of Bozhou city, East China's Anhui province, on Monday released the cause of a drowning incident that resulted in the deaths of six people the previous day.

A local villager, surnamed Guo, had been drinking prior to driving an electric three-wheeled cart carrying five other passengers, including four children, to go fishing at a local pond.

The vehicle fell into a river ditch in a village in the district's Lide township. The driver and passengers were found dead at about 7 am on Sunday.
