Anhui Science and Technology Week to kick off

Anhui province is slated to launch a weeklong sci-tech campaign from May 21 and 28, the Department of Science and Technology of Anhui Province said.

The Anhui Science and Technology Week 2022 will integrate resources of sci-tech innovation and science popularization to create a popular science feast both online and offline, according to the department.

A number of events will be held during the week, including an online opening ceremony, a micro-video contest on popular science, a scientific experiment exhibition, a sci-tech competition among teenagers, and an event featuring the recommendation of outstanding popular science works.

In addition, science popularization events will be held around the eastern Chinese province to focus on issues of public concern, such as the COVID-19 pandemic control, environmental protection, energy conservation, disaster prevention and relief, safe production, as well as food and drug safety.

The province’s major achievements in sci-tech innovation will also be introduced during the campaign.

If anti-pandemic policies permit, popular science venues in the province will open to the public free of charge during the week.

Meanwhile, popular science facilities and labs in colleges, universities and research institutions, high-tech enterprises and sci-tech parks will be encouraged to open to the public.
