Agricultural sci-tech professionals from BRI countries trained in China’s Anhui

Hosted by China International Talent Exchange Foundation and organized by the Institution of Rice of Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the agricultural sci-tech professionals workshop for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries was held in Hefei, Anhui province.

The Technology of Green Rice Production and Management was the theme of this training program. Twelve well-known experts were invited to the workshop to share advanced technologies of Chinese rice with over 150 trainees from the BRI countries, including biological breeding, smart agriculture, the production of hybrid rice seeds , the mechanical production of rice, the storage and processing of rice.

The province has conducted scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation with more than 40 countries and regions, and held six technical training courses and one international seminar on sci-tech policy and management for more than 700 trainees from more than thirty countries.

The Institution of Rice of Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences has made cooperation with the BRI countries including Cambodia, Vietnam, Egypt and Uganda over the last few years, and bred many new water-saving and drought-resistant rice varieties.
