The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has recently given the nod to the establishment of four national manufacturing innovation centers, two among which are situated in east China’s Anhui province, according to the official website of the MIIT.
The two innovation centers, on specializing in new glass materials and the other in intelligent speech, will be the first of their kind in the province.
Led by Bengbu Glass Industry Design and Research Institute under China National Building Material Group Co., and Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics under Chinese Academy of Sciences, the glass innovation center will carry out research on key common technology, test and verification, pilot incubation and provide industry-related public services.
The intelligent speech innovation center will focus on key multilingual speech technology, intelligent acoustics and AI chips. It will be built by industry leaders such as iFlytek, Cambricon and Leinao.
