Up to 11,469 invention patents were granted in east China’s Anhui province during the first half of 2021, representing a year-on-year increase of 57 percent, according to the Administration for Market Regulation of Anhui Province. The number of companies with valid invention patents reached 14,800, the administration added. In the Jan-Jun period, the province filed 143,000 trademark applications, and 121,000 out of them were registered. The number of valid trademarks stood at 885,000 as of Jun 30, up 30.5 percent year on year. 1,505 registered trademarks were owned per 10,000 market entities. The province saw a total of 83 GI products approved as of the end of Jun, and the special signs for 62 ones were used by 559 local companies, said the market regulator.
