East China’s Anhui province kicked off a fair featuring the application of advances in scientific and technological innovation on Monday. Sponsored by the provincial government, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the two-day event highlights the integration of science and technology with economy, focuses on new driving forces behind economic growth, and seeks more regional cooperation. At the opening ceremony of the event, Li Jinbin, Party chief of the province, opened the Anhui Science and Technology Market, a platform for the commercialization of scientific research results. Meanwhile, over 1,000 sci-tech achievements were unveiled and contracts for 60 sci-tech programs were signed. Anhui Innovation Center, the venue of the fair, showcases Anhui’s latest achievements in building an innovation-based province and promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region. In addition, nine activities are slated to be held at the fair, including an online trading festival for sci-tech products, a sci-tech auction and two forums - one on artificial intelligence and the other on technology markets in the Yangtze River Delta region.
