A group of landscape photos taken by female photographer Jiang Changhong from Lu’an City shows the splendid views of Anhui during the year in China’s 24 Solar Terms. The 24 Solar Terms is a traditional Chinese calendar which divides the year into 24 equal segments. Each segment was called a solar term (“jie qi”in Chinese) and they were used to provide guidance for agricultural production. As it represents the wisdom of the ancient Chinese people, it was included in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on November 30, 2016, and is even honored as the “Fifth Great Invention of China”by the international circle of meteorology. Since 2015, Jiang has been committed to taking landscape photos in order to capture the subtle changes of nature during each solar term. It took her over 6 years to complete this set of pictures of Anhui’s beautiful scenery in all solar terms. (Photo by Jiang Changhong) Lichun (Beginning of Spring), Shuiyunjian Park
