Summer tea has the highest yield and the longest picking season of the year, with this season's harvest accounting for over 60% of the annual output. Xiuning County's Shangshan Town is known as the "Largest Mee Tea Town in China," with 19,600 mu of tea gardens.

With the launch of the Huangshan tea sea-rail intermodal transport, to reduce transportation costs, Huangshan Youchen Tea Co., Ltd. has been loading exported tea into containers for shipment to Huangshan Railway Station. Since the tea transportation train from Huangshan to Ningbo started operating last year, the company has transported over 200 high-cube containers (equivalent to 400 TEUs) via multi-modal transport to Ningbo Port, quickly reaching countries like Mauritania, Mali, and Morocco.

To precisely support Anhui tea in seizing the African market, Huangshan Customs, relying on the National Key Laboratory for Tea, has actively conducted routine monitoring of pesticide residues in tea gardens. Since 2020, they have undertaken a total of 4,721 tests on fresh leaves and dry tea, helping the tea industry develop in a high-quality manner from the source. They have established a multi-party coordination mechanism among customs, local governments, ports, railway administrations and enterprises to facilitate the opening of sea-rail intermodal routes from Xuancheng, Huangshan, and Chizhou to Ningbo Zhoushan Port and from Huangshan to Shanghai Port, reducing logistics costs for tea companies by over 15% and improving transportation efficiency by 20%. At the same time, they are implementing the "Smart Customs" initiative by building an intelligent service platform for import and export tea, collecting changes in international tea standards intelligently, and providing enterprises with a one-stop service package to achieve personalized policy services.

According to statistics, from January to July this year, Huangshan City exported tea worth 680 million yuan to Africa, accounting for 70.1% of Anhui Province's tea export value during the same period.
