From September 20th to 24th, 2023, the World Manufacturing Convention will be held in Hefei. During the convention, all venues will be powered by 100% green electricity, marking the first time in Anhui Province's history that a large-scale event achieves full-process green energy supply. Green electricity refers to power with zero or near-zero carbon dioxide emissions during the production process, mainly derived from renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power. Currently, Hefei has a total installed capacity of 2.3591 million kilowatts of new energy, including photovoltaic and wind power, ranking first among provincial capitals in China. For the 2023 World Manufacturing Convention, a green electricity trading mechanism has been established, and a total of 240 'green certificates' were purchased from new energy generation projects in Hefei. One 'green certificate' is equivalent to 1,000 kilowatt-hours, and it is estimated that the convention will consume 240,000 kilowatt-hours of green electricity throughout the event, achieving 100% green energy supply. In addition, a low-carbon electric vehicle charging network utilizing new energy vehicles will be established, further reducing carbon emissions during the convention.
