Tourism and Leisure Blocks unveiled

The first“Tourism and Leisure Blocks in Anhui Province” were announced by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Anhui Province and the Development and Reform Commission of Anhui Province on November 19th, including Leijie in Hefei, Beiguan of Bozhou and Lanxi Old Street in Tongling.

According to the industry standard of “Grade Division of Tourism and Leisure Blocks” issued by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, tourism and leisure blocks should have distinctive cultural themes and regional characteristics, with tourism and leisure, cultural experience and public services and other functions, integrate sightseeing, catering, entertainment, shopping, accommodation, leisure and other business formats and meet the needs of tourists and local residents for sightseeing and leisure.

Tourism and leisure blocks are divided into national and provincial levels. Provincial tourism and leisure blocks are required to cover an area of more than 30,000 square meters or the main street is not less than 300 meters long. The annual number of visitors is not less than 500,000, and measures should be taken to restrict vehicle traffic on the main street during the main business hours every day.
