On April 13th, according to Anhui Energy Administration, power generation and consumption in Anhui rocketed during the first quarter because of relative low power base generation caused by extremely cold weather in winter and the COVID-19 pandemic at the same period last year, with the growth rates exceeding 20%. According to statistics, in the first quarter this year, the province generated electricity up to 74.71bn KWH, up 22.6% year on year. The increase was 37 percentage points higher than the same period last year. The province’s electricity consumption was 63.42bn KWH altogether. The year-on-year growth rate for electricity consumption was 22.4%, rising by 29.7% compared to the same period last year. Besides, electricity for primary industry grew by 41% on a yearly basis, with increase of growing speed by 34.3%.The electricity growth rate for second industry was 31.4% year on year, 44% higher than that in the previous year. Year-on-year growth rate of the tertiary industry was 27.7%, rising by 34.5% compared to the same period last year. Electricity consumption of rural and urban dwellers decreased by 2.8%, with increasing speed 9.1 lower than that of last year. Electricity consumption of industry amid first quarter was 36.93bn KWH totally, increasing by 31% year on year and 43.7% higher than that in the same period in the previous year. The electricity consumption growth rate of manufacturing and production and supply of water, gas, electricity was 31.2%, 47.7% collectively, and growing speed increases by 36.5%,88.4% collectively compared to the same period in the previous year.
