Retail sales of consumer goods up 3.7% in Q1

Retail sales of consumer goods in East China’s Anhui province totaled 551.7 billion yuan ($84.9 billion) in the first quarter of 2022, up 3.7 percent from the same period a year ago, data from the official website of the Bureau of Statistics of Anhui showed.

The growth was 0.4 percentage points higher than the national average.

During the Jan-Mar period, retail sales of consumer goods rose 3.6 percent to 456.5 billion yuan in urban areas of the province, and those in its rural areas increased 4 percent to 95.3 billion yuan.

In terms of type of consumption, the province’s retail sales of commodities stood at 471.6 billion yuan, an increase of 3.6 percent year--on-year, and its catering income grew 4 percent to 80.1 billion yuan.
