A total of 711 enterprises in East China’s Anhui province will attend the 131st China Import and Export Fair, also known as Canton Fair, from April 15 to April 24, the Department of Commerce of Anhui Province said. On April 7th, Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone in the province took part in the first promotional activity of the fair, which featured an online connection between Chinese home appliance producers and multinational enterprises from five Northern European countries. Home appliance enterprises in the zone, such as Midea and Whirlpool, introduced their industry chains integrating R&D, production, sales, logistics and related businesses during the activity. They also had a business talk with the representatives of Northern European enterprises and industrial and commercial organizations. Initiated in 1957, the fair was previously hosted twice a year in Guangzhou, capital of South China’s Guangdong province. It has been held online since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 130th session was held online and offline concurrently. The fair is the country's largest comprehensive trade event with the largest number of overseas buyers and product categories, according to the department.
