105 places in China were designated as state-level bases for the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade, including six in east China’s Anhui province, according to a list recently released by the Ministry of Commerce. The six national bases in the province are a new material base in Bengbu city, a paper plastic base in Huaining county, a mint base in Taihe county, a base for auto parts in Guangde city, a fruit base in Dangshan county and a down base in Xuancheng city. Four out of them are engaged in agriculture and the textile industry. To date, 24 national foreign trade transformation and upgrading bases have been recognized around the province. Half of them are agricultural and textile bases. The province has promoted the integrated development of foreign trade and industries, and that of new forms and traditional trade over the past few years. Enterprises in the national bases have been encouraged to use data and information technology for intelligent production. Cross-border e-commerce has also been sped up. The national agricultural and textile foreign trade bases in Anhui registered $1.6 billion in import and export on a yearly basis, accounting for 15 percent of the province’s agricultural and textile trade value.
