Anhui’s market entities exceed 6 mln

The number of newly registered market entities in east China’s Anhui province reached 537,300 in the first half of 2021, representing a year-on-year increase of 18.81 percent, according to the local administration for market regulation.

As of June 30, the number of market entities totaled 6.21 million, up 13.83 percent.

Among the new market entities, 190,200 are enterprises, up 16.27 percent. 319 out of them are foreign enterprises, up 25.59 percent.

Up to 70.5 percent of the newly registered enterprises are engaged in the tertiary industry.

The industries which had been severely hit by the COVID-19 pandemic showed rapid recovery during the first half of the year, due to the province’s effective measures. The number of new accommodation and catering enterprises rose 44.06 percent year on year, the number of newly registered real estate businesses increased 43.92 percent, and the number of new enterprises in the culture, sports and entertainment industry went up 33.61 percent.

143,800 new market entities were registered in Hefei, capital of the province, between January and June. The city also saw the fastest year-on-year growth of 43.95 percent, followed by Huaibei (34.38 percent) and Suzhou (32.18 percent).
