Anhui’s gross domestic product (GDP) reached 2.06 trillion yuan (US$317.65 billion) in the first half of 2021, up 12.9 percent from the same period a year ago, the Anhui Provincial Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday.
The growth rate, 0.2 percentage point higher than the national average, brought the province to the seventh place in China. Between January and June, the value-added output of the primary sector rose 9.2 percent to 126.69 billion yuan, that of the secondary sector increased 14.2 percent to 853.41 billion yuan, and that of the tertiary sector came in at 1.08 trillion yuan, up 12.4 percent. The province’s industrial value-added output went up 17.3 percent. High-tech enterprises saw their value-added output growth 20.6 percentage points higher than the province’s industrial growth, contributing to 13.2 percent of the total growth. In addition, strategic emerging industries grew 36.2 percent, contributed to 42 percent. Fixed-asset investment rose 11.4 percent in the first half of the year, 0.4 percentage point higher than the growth rate during the first quarter. Retail sales came in at 1.08 trillion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 27.4 percent. Imports hit 134.28 billion yuan, up 27.7 percent, while exports stood at 186.29 billion yuan, up 34.5 percent. Fiscal revenue grew 18.0 percent to 195.63 billion yuan, while fiscal expenditure reached 403.9 billion yuan, an increase of 3.6 percent. Urban residents' per capita disposable income reached 21,837 yuan, up 12.3 percent, while rural residents’ per capta disposable income rose 14.8 percent to 10,010 yuan.
