Nat'l model project initiated in Wuhu

Wuhu High-tech Industrial Development Zone signed an agreement with Chery New Energy Automobile Technology Co. on June 28 to jointly launch a national model project featuring green technology, according to an Anhui Daily report on Monday.

The project, worth 7.0 billion yuan (about $1.1 billion), consists of the design, research and development (R&D), and production of the company’s five middle- and high-end products using its own green technology.

Under the agreement, workshops, a logistics center, an R&D building, a sales center and living quarters for the staff will be built in Wuhu High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

The project will further enrich the industry chains of intelligent-connected vehicles (ICVs) and new energy vehicles (NEVs), expand the market share of ICVs and raise the innovation capacity and competitiveness of Wuhu as an industrial hub for NEVs, the report said.
