16 well-known tea enterprises in East China’s Anhui province attended the 4th China International Tea Expo, held in late May in Hangzhou, capital of East China’s Zhejiang province. Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Zhejiang provincial government, the five-day expo aimed to build tea brands and promote tea consumption. It kicked off on May 21, also observed as International Tea Day. A total of 16 companies from Anhui’s five tea-growing regions - Huangshan, Lu’an, Anqing, Chizhou and Xuancheng - as well as Chuzhou took part in the event, showing the province’s branded tea like Huangshan Maofeng and Lu’an Guapian. With the theme of “Tea and the World Share Development”, the expo attracted 20 countries’ ambassadors to China and the United Nations resident coordinator in China. A forum on international tea industry and a tea culture forum were held during the expo.
