6,023 new firms set up in Anhui FTZ

Up to 6,023 enterprises were set up and 531 projects worth a total of 364.8 billion yuan ($57.3 billion) were signed in Anhui Pilot Free Trade Zone as of the end of April.

The FTZ has carried out all its 112 pilot tasks and proposed 52 innovative measures in such areas as business environment, sci-tech innovation, financial services and regional coordination.

The zone drew on valuable experience of FTZs in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, especially their seeking support from the central government, and sorted out 22 items for being empowered.

Six departments, including the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Anhui Province and the Anhui branch of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, have introduced polices to back the zone.

The FTZ also sped up the development of Industrial clusters. 16 state-level innovation platforms, for instance, were built in the Hefei area of the FTZ, attracting investment of 51.7 billion yuan.
