Anhui’s foregin trade rose 38.50 percent year on year in the first two months this year, customs data showed. The eastern Chinese province’s foreign trade value totaled 90.39 billion yuan (about US$13.89 billion) between January and February, up 38.50 percent from the same period a year ago. The growth rate was 6.30 percentage points higher than the national average. The province’s exports stood at 52.29 billion yuan, up 61.30 percent year-on-year, while its imports increased 15.90 percent to 38.10 billion yuan. The province also saw its export growth and import growth 11.20 percentage points and 1.40 percentage points higher than the national average increases, respectively. In February alone, Anhui’s imports and exports reached 41.54 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year surge of 67.10 percent.
