Tongling

Tongling City is located in the mid-south Anhui province and on the south bank of mid and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It covers an area of 1200 square kilometers and has a population of 740000. There are three districts, one county and one national economic and technological development zone under its jurisdiction.

Tongling is abundant in natural resources. It’s well known as China’s ancient bronze capital with 3000 year copper extracting and smelting history and “a place with eight treasures”. Tongling is rich in mineral resources explored copper reserves cover 70% of the overall provincial reserves. Tongling is also rich in sulfur iron, limestone, gold and silver. Its agricultural and sideline products like root bark of the tree peony, ramie, ginger, garlic enjoy high reputations home and abroad.

Meanwhile, Tongling has geographical advantages, fine investment environment and convenient transportations. It sits in the middle point between Shanghai and Wuhan, between Nanjing and Jiujiang, 180 kilometers away from the world park Yellow Mountain, and 80 kilometers away from the famous Buddhist Mountain Jiuhua Mountain. It acts as the north gate to the south tourism areas in Anhui province. It is also 1 hour drive to Xinqiao(Hefei)Airport, 2 hour drive to Lukou(Nanjing) Airport and only 20 km to Jiuhua(Chizhou) Airport. It is the intersection of the high speed railways from Nanjing to Anqing and from Beijing to Fuzhou. Tongling is a national first-class port opening to the foreign ships and final stop in Yangtze Rive for 10 thousand ton sea vessel.

Relying on the rich copper resource, Tongling is vigorously developing its special featured economy. Today it has formed an industrial system with copper, chemical, electronics, building materials and textile as the leading industries; it is the biggest electrolytic copper manufacturing base in China, national key sulfur phosphor industrial base, electronic fundamental materials and components production base, flax textile base, building materials production base and electronic moulds production base. Tongling has a batch of listed companies and companies ready to be listed.
