Xinqiao International Airport in Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province, will handle more than 130 flights and receive around 35,000 passengers on a daily basis during the summer travel rush starting on Monday.

To better serve the demand during the peak travel period, the airport will see an increase in both domestic and international flights.

China Eastern Airlines has planned to operate a flight from Hefei to Weihai, Shandong province twice on a weekly basis, and another from Hefei to Kunming, Yunnan province four times a week. It will increase the frequency of the Hefei-Lanzhou flight and the Hefei-Yantai flight from three times a week to once on a daily basis.

Sichuan Airlines will launch an air route from Hefei to Chongqing with a flight to be operated six times on a weekly basis.

Chongqing Airlines has planned to operate a flight from Hefei to Chongqing every day.

In addition, Shenzhen Donghai Airlines will add a Hefei-Chongqing flight and a Hefei-Guiyang flight three times on a weekly basis.

A non-stop flight linking Hefei and Moscow has been in service since June 20.

Pan Pacific Airlines is slated to launch a flight from Hefei to Kalibo, the Philippines on July 18. It will ply between the two cities three times on a weekly basis.
