A static check was started Wednesday on the high-speed railway linking Hangzhou, capital of East China’s Zhejiang province, with Huangshan, a city in East China’s Anhui province, according to China Railway Shanghai Group.
The 286.8-km rail passes a number of well-known tourist destinations, such as the city of Hangzhou, the Qiandao Lake and the Huangshan Mountain.
Construction on the project began in 2014. It will open to traffic by the end of 2018.
