416 A-level scenic spots in East China’s Anhui province, or 68.8 percent of the provincial total, reopened as of April 5 after two months of travel restrictions and lockdown against COVID-19, local tourism authorities said on Monday. 11 5A-rated tourist attractions among them have reopened as the epidemic is receding, according to the Department of Culture and Tourism of Anhui Province. The tourism sector has taken measures to lower the risks of infection, such as limiting the number of daily visitors and selling tickets online. Special activities have been launched to attract tourists. Dangshan county, for example, held an online festival featuring the livestreaming of hundreds of hectares of pear flowers. Yuexi county hosted an aerial photo competition, inviting photographers to its azalea-covered mountains. Huangshan Mountain, Jiuhua Mountain and another eight 5A-rated scenic areas in Anhui offer free entry to medical workers nationwide in gratitude for their anti-epidemic efforts.
