On July 12th, the reporter learned from the Anhui Provincial Sports Bureau that 14 outstanding young athletes from Anhui province are scheduled to participate in the XXXI (31th) Summer World University Games, commonly known as the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games, which will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan. At the Chengdu World University Games, Zhao Xingyue and Su Yuheng will respectively participate in the women's and men's rowing events, Li Yuting will participate in the women's 100-meter athletics event, Chen Chen will participate in the women's javelin throw event, Dong Tianyao and Tan Qiang will participate in the men's badminton event, Hu Kai and Xia Qi will participate in the men's shooting event, Li Zhiqin will participate in the women's Sanda (Free Fighting) event, Lan Minghao and Yu Lefan will participate in the men's sabre event, Tang Junyao will participate in the women's sabre event, and Cao Bo and Mao BenNian will participate in the men's epee event. As the backbone of Anhui province's young athletes, these participating athletes have experienced competitions both at home and abroad. Among them, Lan Minghao has wielded his sword on the Tokyo Olympic stage, and together with his teammates, achieved the best historical result for China's men's sabre team in the Olympics. Li Yuting has been included in the roster of the Chinese women's athletics team for the Tokyo Olympics, while Hu Kai has won the gold medal in the men's 10-meter air pistol event at the Shaanxi National Games. The Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games will open on July 28th 2023 at the main stadium of Dong'an Lake Sports Park and last for 12 days. It will feature a total of 18 major events, including athletics, diving, martial arts, rowing, and shooting, as well as 269 minor events.
