Rowers from East China’s Anhui province won two gold medals at the 14th National Games qualifying session held in Ezhou, Central China’s Hubei province last week. The competition was also a trial for the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games. The province’s rowing team bagged two golds and one bronze at the four-day event. In addition, the athletes also won a third place, a fifth place, three seventh places and an eighth place. Excluding backups, the team won 32 qualifications for the finals of the 14th National Games, slated to be held in Northwest China’s Shaanxi province in September. The rowing team will step up preparations for the national games during the next five months, according to an official with the Administration of Sport of Anhui Province.
