Beijing, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- Pharmaceutical enterprises across China are working at full capacity to ensure the supply of key medicines for COVID-19 control, as the country optimizes its COVID-19 response.

Lanzhou Foci Pharmaceutical Co. in northwest China's Gansu Province has been working around the clock to produce medications for colds and respiratory infections.

Shandong Xinhua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in east China's Shandong Province is specialized in producing fever reducers and pain relievers.

To meet the market demand, it has ramped up the production of ibuprofen 24 hours a day.

Its capacity has reached 10,000 tablets of ibuprofen per minute.

Meanwhile, efforts have also been made to ensure more targeted and reasonable medicine dispatching.

Priority will be given to the distribution of medical supplies to key places, such as medical institutions and nursing homes for the elderly.
