Bar-headed geese, a kind of summer migratory bird inhabiting in mountain-and-lake areas in western China, were recently found in Jingde county in East China’s Anhui province. Bar-headed geese, also known as white-headed geese and black-grain geese, are praised as the highest-flying birds in the world for their ability to fly over the Himalayas. Ruddy Shelducks(red geese), keen on mixing with bar-headed geese, were also discovered at the same time. Why do the creatures living mostly in Qinghai province and Tibet autonomous region appear in low-altitude Jingde county? Perhaps some bar-headed geese were injured or left groups and landed in the county, and they chose to stay here because of its friendly ecological environment, explained local forestry experts。 (By Yang Zixuan)
