Hefei high-tech zone sets goals to boost quantum computing industry

The Quantum Information Future Industry Summit was held at Zhong'an Chuanggu Technology Park in the Hefei high-tech zone on April 28.

Plans were formulated to boost the quantum technology industry in the zone, located in Hefei, the provincial capital of Anhui.

According to the plans, the zone will serve as home to over 100 quantum information technology companies and will be a national hub for science and technology innovation and incubation in this industry by 2025.

By that deadline more than 30 multidisciplinary scientists in the field of quantum technology will be cultivated and introduced in Hefei high-tech zone, along with 50 innovation and entrepreneurial teams, with more than 10,000 employees in total.

The total valuation of core enterprises in the quantum field in Hefei high-tech zone is projected to reach 70 billion yuan ($10.14 billion), and its quantum technology-related industries will form a 10-billion-yuan industrial cluster.

The zone's science and technology bureau also issued a plan on site to develop a science and technology park for future industries, and 12 quantum technology enterprises signed contacts to settle in the zone.
