Hefei Origin Quantum Computing Technology Co. and Hefei Nexchip Co. signed an agreement recently in Hefei, Anhui province, to build a joint laboratory for quantum computing chips, according to a People’s Daily report. Quantum technology is the frontline of new wave of science and technology evolution and industry reformation. The CPC Anhui Provincial Committee and the provincial government highlight development of the quantum industry, and will propel construction of innovation origin place for the industry and industrial clustering zone, build up quantum technology industry innovative chains and erect “quantum center”. The lab, the first of its kind in the province, will develop technology and verify engineering flow sheets in the field of integrated circuits operating at very low temperatures, and achieve the whole-chain development from designing to packaging and testing. The development of the lab will play an important role in promoting the integrated development of quantum computing chips, filling the gaps in domestic manufacturing and accelerating the application.
