The 5th Session of the 12th Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’ s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened on Sunday, in Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province. Nearly 700 political advisers from around the province attended the session. Zheng Shanjie, Party chief of Anhui province and governor Wang Qingxian were present at the session. Zhang Chang’er, chairman of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, delivered a work report from the standing committee covering the past year. Xia Tao, vice chairman of the CPPCC Anhui Provincial Committee, delivered a report on how proposals from political advisers were handled after the previous session. Deng Xiangyang, vice chairman of the committee, chaired the opening ceremony of the annual session. The agenda of the four-day session includes hearing and deliberating the work report of the standing committee of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the CPPCC and the report about how proposals put forward at the last session have been handled by the standing committee. Members of the CPPCC Anhui Provincial Committee will be also present at the 5th Session of the 13th Anhui Provincial People’s Congress to hear and discuss the work report of the provincial government and other related reports.
