Zhang Chang’er, chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Anhui Provincial Committee, the provinial political advisory body, met with members from Hong Kong and Macao on Monday in Hefei, capital of east China’s Anhui province.
The members of the CPPCC Anhui Provincial Committee in Hong Kong and Macao will attend the upcoming World Manufacturing Convention (WMC), slated to be held in the city from September 20 to 23.
The WMC 2019 is an international event that will promote exchanges and cooperation in the global advanced manufacturing sector, a high-end platform for exchanges in innovation and development of the world’s manufacturing industry, and also an important widow to present the image of Anhui, Zhang said after briefing the members on the province’s economic and social development.
Speaking at the meeting, the official called on the members to deepen understanding of Anhui province and the country as a whole, and find more opportunities for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation and common development between Anhui and Hong Kong and between Anhui and Macao.
Zhang also urged the Hong Kong and Macao members to adhere to the policy of “one country, two systems” and contribute to social stability and economic prosperity of Hong Kong and Macao and coordinated development between the two special administrative regions and the Chinese mainland.
On behalf of the members, Zhu Yulong, Wu Zhibin and He Fengxian said they will continue to leverage their own advantages to promote the development of Anhui province and safeguard prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao.
Sun Lifang, vice chairman of the CPPCC Anhui Provincial Committee, and Che Dun’an, secretary-general of the committee, were present at the gathering.
