On September 20, 2025, the International Cooperation on Intelligent Manufacturing Matchmaking Meeting of the 2025 World Manufacturing Convention was held in Hefei. At the meeting, Christian Wulff, Honorary Chairman of the Global Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Alliance, and Ma'anshan city leaders exchanged plaques to jointly establish Ma'anshan as a "Global Investment Promotion Partner" and a "Global SME Alliance–Recommended Destination for Foreign Investment."

The matchmaking meeting was co-hosted by the Global SME Alliance and the Anhui Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, bringing together nearly 300 guests including government officials, leaders of international organizations and business associations, executives from Fortune Global 500 companies, and executives of leading industry enterprises.

Under the theme "International Cooperation on Intelligent Manufacturing to Promote High-Quality Industrial Development," participants focused on topics in the development of intelligent manufacturing such as R&D and innovation, application deployment, demand-driven growth, industrial integration, and industrial chain restructuring. They held in-depth exchanges to actively seek cooperation opportunities and areas of focus for manufacturing transformation, promote the digital transformation and upgrading of intelligent manufacturing, and foster international cooperation and high-quality development in intelligent manufacturing.

During the investment-promotion session, a relevant leader from Ma'anshan City introduced the city's investment environment and the development of its manufacturing industry. "Ma'anshan has been listed among China's Top 100 Cities Most Attractive to Talent for five consecutive years, and has seen net population inflow for three consecutive years. For seven straight years it has implemented initiatives to continuously improve its business environment; its city credit monitoring index ranks seventh nationwide. The city has improved services for foreign trade enterprises, protected foreign-invested rights and interests, places great emphasis on intellectual property protection, is a demonstration city for national strong intellectual property construction, has built a property-rights service center to serve enterprise branding, and promptly and efficiently resolves enterprise demands. We look forward to deepening exchanges and cooperation with the Global SME Alliance to accelerate the development of intelligent manufacturing."

On site, a number of intelligent-manufacturing projects were signed in bulk. The Anhui Department of Industry and Information Technology signed a cooperation framework agreement with the Federation of German Industries' Association for Small and Medium Enterprises; the Ma'anshan Municipal People's Government signed a cooperation framework agreement with the Global SME Alliance; Ningbo Kaite Machinery Co., Ltd. signed an investment agreement with the Hefei Economic Development Zone; German company FAVEOS signed a procurement agreement for energy storage equipment with Gotion, and the China Committee of the Federation of German SMEs signed a consulting services agreement with Gotion.
