Anhui's GDP reaches 2307.3 billion yuan in H1, up 6.1% year-on-year

On July 30, the reporter learnt from the Anhui Provincial Bureau of Statistics that the province's gross domestic product reached 2307.3 billion yuan in H1, a year-on-year increase of 6.1 percent at constant prices. By industry, the added value of the primary industry was 126 billion yuan, up 3.7 percent; the added value of the secondary industry was 966.1 billion yuan, up 6.5 percent; and the added value of the tertiary industry was 1,215.2 billion yuan, up 6.1 percent.

Stable agricultural production and a good summer grain harvest

In the first half of the year, the province's total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fisheries increased by 4 percent year-on-year, up 0.4 percentage points from the first quarter. Summer grain sowing area reached 42.949 million mu, an increase of 200,000 mu over the previous year, with a total output of 34.82 billion jin, ranking third in the country. The output of pork, beef, mutton and poultry meat was 2.135 million tonnes, an increase of 3.4 percent, of which pork production increased by 2.9 percent; egg production increased by 10.8 percent; and milk production increased by 11.3 percent. At the end of the second quarter, there were 16.344 million pigs in stock, an increase of 0.2 percent.

Industrial production growth rate rose, equipment manufacturing grows fast

In H1, the province's industrial added value grew by 6.9 percent year-on-year, 2.7 percentage points higher than the first quarter. By economic type, the added value of state-controlled enterprises grew by 4.1 percent; joint-stock enterprises by 8.5 percent; and private enterprises by 9 percent.

According to the three major categories, the added value of the mining industry declined by 0.5 percent, the manufacturing industry grew by 8.4 percent, and the electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industry grew by 0.1 percent. By product, integrated circuits grew by 70.2 percent, solar cells by 64.8 percent, and industrial robots by 31.2 percent.

Continued recovery in the service industry, with favourable growth in the living service sector

In the H1, the added value of the service sector grew by 6.1 percent year-on-year, accelerating by 0.6 percentage points over the first quarter. Among them, the financial sector grew by 10 percent and the information transmission, software and information technology services sector grew by 7 percent. From January to May, the operating income of living services increased by 15 percent, 8.1 percentage points higher than that of services above designated size. Among them, revenues from tourism and excursion services, residents' travel services, residents' household services, culture, sports and recreation, and health services increased by 1.1 times, 63.6 percent, 36.6 percent, 24.6 percent and 16.8 percent respectively.

Stable recovery in the consumer market, with faster growth in sales of green and smart goods

In H1, the province's total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 1,152.84 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.3 percent, 2.5 percentage points faster than in the first quarter.

By location of business units, retail sales of consumer goods in cities and towns increased by 7.6 percent, while retail sales of consumer goods in rural areas increased by 6.2 percent. By type of consumption, retail sales of commodities increased by 6.2%, while catering revenue increased by 15%. Retail sales of daily necessities for units above designated size increased by 11.3%, sales of new-energy vehicles increased by 57.5 per cent, smartphones by 37.2 percent, and smart home appliances and audio-visual equipment by 20.8 percent.

The total volume of imports and exports maintained growth and the trade structure continued to be optimised

In H1, the province's total import and export of goods amounted to 377.55 billion yuan, an increase of 3.4 percent year-on-year, accelerating by 1.5 percentage points over the first quarter. Among them, total exports reached 251.26 billion yuan, up 14.5 percent; total imports reached 126.29 billion yuan, down 13.4 percent. Among the export products, electric vehicles, lithium batteries, solar cells and other combined exports of 21.93 billion yuan, an increase of 51.7 percent, pulling the province's export growth of 3.4 percentage points.

The overall employment situation is stable, and residents' income is steadily increasing

In H1, 374000 new urban jobs were created in the province, a year-on-year increase of 6 percent, completing 55.1 percent of the annual target. The disposable income per capita of the province's residents was 17,998 yuan, an increase of 6.9 percent year-on-year, 1.7 percentage points higher than the first quarter. By place of permanent residence, the disposable income per capita of urban residents was 24,138 yuan, an increase of 5.1 percent in real terms; the disposable income per capita of rural residents was 11,407 yuan, an increase of 7 percent in real terms.
